MICHAEL W. PERRY

Michael W. Perry is one of the most recognized and respected names in Hawaii broadcast history, and his talents have moved him to the top of his profession in both the local and national media.

He was born in Michigan, but grew up in the Washington, D.C. area, gaining valuable insight into the ways of government by working in the Pentagon and in the office of John Gardner, then U.S. Secretary of Health, Education and Welfare.

In 1969, Perry received his B.S. in Psychology from Michigan State University, then served as a Navy Lieutenant in the Pacific Submarine Force.

He made Hawaii his home in 1972, and spent eleven years as Hawaii's number one afternoon radio personality. In 1983, Michael W. Perry joined Larry Price to create Hawaii's most listened-to-morning radio program. The Perry and Price Show on KSSK Radio has consistently been a runaway #1 program in Hawaii, and for years has been one of the most dominant radio shows in America in the national Arbitron ratings. Perry's perception of news and the people in the news has led to his recognition as one of the most informed and "akamai" (aware) people in the islands.

Since 1980 he has been the Executive Producer and Host of Hawaii's #1 local television show, the award-winning "Hawaiian Moving Company", a Sunday night TV habit for island residents.

In addition to being a spokesman for several local companies, Perry does countless national and international TV commercials. His TV acting credits include "One West Waikiki", "Jake and the Fatman", “Baywatch Hawaii”, the mini-series "Blood and Orchids", and many more. He played Dr. Trusseau in the recent movie “Molokai – The Father Damien Story”.

Perry is a sought-after luncheon speaker, and has been active in countless community events and projects. Recently he has devoted the majority of his public service efforts to Hawaii's respected REHAB Hospital, where he is Chairman of the Board of the REHAB Foundation.

He lives with his family in Kailua.
